For these cold, rainy days...

Hot Shower

Warm water drops falling, covering my lusting skin
comme caramel coats, caresses an apple’s own,
though never hardening, yet warding as a shell,
Anointing my essence then for to sublimate
into specter thin vapor swirling vagabond,
crafting a milky mantle across the thin air.

What sweet soothing breath drawn from the dewy ether,
What pleasure to drift cutting a fabric of mist,
Inhaling moist, wafting crystals of existence
That sifting in my mouth taste of life’s glowing grace,
Eternal rebirth perfusing at every pore,
Aloft cumulus humilis, floating carefree.

Absorbed in the haze, dreaming by daylight of dryads,
Finger-painting abstractions on mirror canvas,
Absorbed by the thought of never leaving this fog,
Immaculate embrace, halcyon chrysalis
Clear confident of my most naked naiveté,
The crisp cold outside could I ever come to face?
